Churches (and Christians) today are so busy! There are programs, meetings, activities or gatherings every night of the week! But is this ''busy-cess'' cultivating a healthy congregational life and building spiritually mature disciples? Dr. Eric Geiger , along with Dr. Thom Rainer of LifeWay Christian Resources, examined this question in their book, Simple Church. The book is built upon an extensive research project that has challenged thousands of church leaders to embrace a simple church design. Geiger and Rainer found that churches that were focused and committed to ''simple'' principles were consistently doing a better job at making genuine disciples. Simple. Streamline. Eliminate the clutter.
The research is very convincing. In general vibrant churches are much simpler than struggling and anemic churches. The book challenges and teaches leaders to design a simple and strategic process that moves people through the stages of spiritual growth. That sample process is about:
Clarity Movement. Alignment. Focus.
So it is with great joy and anticipation that we invite you to come and hear Eric Geiger, the coauthor of Simple Church on July 16. During this conference, Eric will share with us the characteristics of the Simple Church and how we might employ those principles here in east Tennessee. It is a must-attend event for anyone desiring to grow their church!
