True Transformation: Part 1

It’s February, and many people have seen their New Year’s Resolutions fall to the wayside. Last year, I made just two big resolutions: to lose weight and read books. I did a good job on the books, reading even more than I thought I would. But the weight? Well, instead of losing it, I gained it!

In looking back over the reasons why, I finally came up with a good understanding on why I could achieve one goal and fail in another. You see, the books really transformed me last year – I was so excited to read and learn more because the churches were needing to grow and mature. It kinda took over my whole life. But with trying to lose weight, I simply tried to change a little bit here or there: eat a little less, exercise a little more, etc.

Just changing a couple of things here and there won’t do.
 
To achieve real change, we need transformation!

Transformation isn’t just head knowledge. Most of us already know what would help us be better people, yet we still don’t do it! Someone once said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results. We can’t simply alter a couple of small things and experience great differences in our lives. No, we need to change the way we see things – we need to see things the way God sees them. Only then will we be able to achieve true transformation.
